Wilkhommen! Bienvenu! Welcome!
Well, here it is: the first post! Now, to explain the merriment that will commence.
Reel curiosity is all about movies. But, more specifically, about rare gems out there that have been looked over, or just slipped away, never heard of, or from somewhere that’s beyond the pond, and more. It’s for movie lovers. It’s for the curious. So, grab the popcorn and settle in.
Now, onto the boring stuff of how the site will run or what I want it to look like. Every movie will be given basic information (director, actors, release, etc) and some nifty spiffy tags. So, to explain the tags I’ll be using, I’m creating a guide below. These are all working definitions, so they’ll probably change. I will also try to add to them as I progress.
Main Movie Types:
Indepent /Indie- Non-major motion picture company. A lot of Focus Films will probably be here.
Foreign- It wasn’t made in the US.
Cult- Has a large following and isn’t usually main stream. These often have midnight showings with casts and callbacks.
Classic- This can take on a life of its own. That’s why is descriptive too!
Descriptive terms:
Quiet- Generally, there’s not a lot of action or background music. More plot or character driven.
Classic
Vintage
Slasher
Horror
Teen
Musical
Book
I plan on trying to do a movie a week. I’m going to try and keep a good mix of each area and various genres. I’ll also give my opinion, random facts, and other things to peak your interest in the movies. Hopefully you’ll find something fun to watch! Please feel free to give suggestions (love these! It’s like getting previews!) or comments. Or maybe just pay for me to get Netflix. That would rock!
